Mental Health Resources

Mental health is an important aspect of our daily lives. There are many things that can impact our mental health, and sometimes we all need help. Whether it is the friendly ear of a co-worker, our family, or someone a little more knowledgable in ways to help ourselves, sometimes having someone to talk to can make a big difference. Mental health issues small or large, are nothing to be ashamed of. Asking for help may not be easy, but it is an important step to feeling more secure.

We can also be our Brothers and Sisters keeper by learning to recognize symptoms of depression and other mental health issues. If you feel comfortable, reach out to that person and let them know that you care. Offer to help them contact people who can help them work through what they are going through. If you do not feel comfortable reaching out, you can also contact your local union officers to let them know that you think that this person may be in distress, and could use a caring hand.

In addition to the services provided by Employee Assistance Program, we have compiled a list of the community health resurces in our jurisdiction. This list is not exhaustive, and if you have any links to mental health services in our communities that would be helpful, please contact us to have them added to our list.
